Missions

The Ariel Family

Nate & Tara, with their seven children, moved to Colombia, South America, from Burlington to serve the Lord on the mission field. They are living in a small, impoverished community in Bocachica, an island off the coast of Cartagena. Nate and Tara started a project called “Juntos” which means “together”, believing that it takes those living on the mission field, those who support missions through prayer, financial support, and encouragement, and other like-minded organizations working alongside local churches in Colombia to get results.

Nate enjoys discipling the men of Bocachica and teaching them how to be godly, honest, hardworking husbands and fathers. He leads a local team in providing clean water and sanitation training through making Biosand filters and giving classes. He also provides construction training and advises on better building techniques.

Nate and Tara are busy hosting a wide range of visitors from all over the world. They host teams, couples, and singles. The Lord has blessed them through serving in hospitality, which allows the visitors to work alongside them in the community.

Tara, along with homeschooling her children, teaches English classes to the children and youth in Bocachica weekly. She is a strong example of a godly wife and mother to the women. The 8 Ariel children are befriending the children on the island and showing them the love of Christ in the way that only a child can.

The Ariels support the local Christian radio in Bocachica. Weekly, they share Bible teachings and talk about community cultural needs and how to change habits. There are many other daily occurrences of ministry that result from being immersed and living in the community that the whole family participates in.

God is using this family in huge ways in that little community, and Antioch is blessed to be able to send and support the Ariel family. www.colombiamissionfamily.blogspot.com
