Lydia Costello, Rancho Los Amigos

Lydia Costello lives in Juárez, Mexico, right across the Texas border of El Paso. She is a full-time caretaker in a children’s home called Rancho Los Amigos, which is part of the international ministry of Youth With A Mission (YWAM).
Rancho is set up like a big foster care home, since foster care has been non-existent in Mexico until recently. Currently, the government still relies on children’s homes and orphanages to take care of children that are not able to live with their families due to a variety of situations such as neglect, abandonment, abuse, or drug consumption in the home. The prominence of children that need this kind of care is overwhelming. There are over 30 children’s home in Juárez alone.
Lydia has been in Mexico since 2015, fostering hurting children, by loving them and teaching them about Jesus. She is blessed by the opportunity she has to be a part of these children’s lives, and is grateful for the loving support of Antioch.
