Our History

Antioch Community Church began in the spring of 1987, when five families agreed together to plant a work that we believed would be God’s answer for all the problems in our county. Boy, were we young and naïve! Now we look back and see God’s hand of faithfulness as He guided us, matured us, sometimes disciplined us, and always reminded us that “from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever” (Romans 11:36).

There are two big events that have shaped us as a church, beginning with the nine years we spent on the college campus, from 1993 to 2002. We met every Sunday at Elon University during the months when school was in session and had the opportunity to disciple more than 500 students during that time.

The second event was moving into the church building, where we currently meet, in the summer of 2002. God has given us a ‘home base’ in which He has built a congregation of people who love Him, His Word, and each other. From that building, we go into the community to serve and to love those with whom he has given us relationship and influence.
