About Elders

“So when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed” (Acts 14:23).
“This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you” (Titus 1:5).
Antioch is committed to what we believe is a healthy, biblical model for church leadership: a plurality of elders. Though there is one man who serves as Pastor, he has no more authority than the other elders, and these men work together to lead the church. The elders are responsible for the leading and feeding of the flock, as well as church discipline, protection against false teachers, and living among the flock as spiritual examples (1 Peter 5:3).
